ART QUILT MIDWEST 2025

At Art Quilt Midwest it is our goal to support visiting
artists on the University of Central Missouri campus in Warrensburg, Missouri and create an immersive week-long learning opportunity for professional and hobbyist art/modern textiles and quilt makers from basic skills to expert. Learners will have an extended opportunity to learn and practice new skills with guidance from seasoned professional instructors.

About the event

At ART QUILT MIDWEST 2025, a week long event of quilting and textile related classes, learners will also have opportunities to network with each other, instructors, and leaders from fiber organizations around the region/nation strengthening the community of quilt artists and encouraging future generations of makers.

University of Central Missouri ART & DESIGN, a division of the School of Visual and Performing Arts, supports the intellectual growth, creativity and artistic leadership of its students by combining rigorous artistic training with a liberal arts education and serves as a vital force in the cultural and intellectual life of the University of Central Missouri, the community and the region.

The Visiting Artists Fund, supported in part by a
generous donation by the Kleppe Family, brings visiting artists to Warrensburg to provide students the opportunity to learn from a valuable network of practicing artists and designers. Visiting artists may come for a few hours, days, or months, depending on the curricular needs. The Division of Art and Design hosts the Kleppe Visiting Artists Lecture Series, a weekly public lecture during the academic year and provides gallery space for artists through the Gallery of Art &
Design. Recently the Division of Art & Design has been able to fund a semester long visiting artist who teaches academic courses but also leads community events such as plein air drawing opportunities in the Warrensburg community.

Hi! I’m Susan Stevenson. I’ve been faculty at UCM Art & Design for over 20 years. My teaching focus is interior design, but my creative focus is fiber art and art quilting.
